To achieve the maximum performance from your engine it is important to have as much information as possible as to acertain were gains can be made. By monitoring exhaust gas temperatures any cylinder inbalance can be determined.
Mounting a thermocouple in each runner gives engine tuners a more accurate indication of cylinder temperatures and is highly recommended.

Mounting a single thermocouple in the collector can give inaccurate readings due to the fact that richer cylinders can compensate for leaner cylinders. In this case the overall temperature may seem to be within range where as in reality, the lean cylinder condition would not have been detected.

Maximum performance from your engine :
The limit of detonation of an engine is determined by its leanest cylinder, thus being able to identify this allows for the limit to be raised. Individually trimming fuel delivery to each cylinder allows the maximum performance to be extracted from your engine.
Trimming of the cylinders is based upon the exhaust temperature of each cylinder. Sakura Motorsports has developed a reliable and simple to use thermocouple interface unit , the EGT-204/208. Two models are available, the EGT-204 for  4 cylinder and rotary engines and the  EGT-208  for 6 and 8 cylinder engines. The EGT-204/208 connects directly to the FC-10 , with temperatures displayed numerically and graphically in software.See Figure 1 below.

Protect your engine :
The EGT-204/208 coupled with the ECU alarms function, provides  the  user with valuable information in the early detection of faults which could lead to costly engine damage.

Rugged and easy to install :
The EGT-204/208 is compatible with all K-type thermocouple probes and the mating connection is made via a standard miniature connector system. The system is housed in a rugged aluminum casing and comes complete with interface cable.
Thermocouples with integral connectors are also available with suitable mounting hardware along with interconnecting cables from your Sakura Motorsports dealer.
